Once deactivated the email address will not be functional for 30 days.

By Smit Mathur

Now days it’s very easy to access any site from anywhere this is just because of Domain Name Server. It helps users to access any site on internet anywhere. On internet every computer has a specific address that address is a series of number, that address is called IP Address and IP stands for Internet Protocol. Every computer’s IP is different and difficult. So with the help of DNS we don’t need to remember IP, we only need to remember the address with the help of group of alphabetical letters like “Web Name”. So instead of typing an IP address “192.168.1.4″ we can use a name like “www. abc.com”. It’s like a memory aid and its helps us to memorize these types of address and it makes the site easier to find for visitors as well. This process is called Resolving the Domain Name, convert IP address into name. Now Internet user can log on to any website by entering only name of its domain this is the aim of DNS. It’s also used for other Internet applications and for reaching e-mail addresses.

When running up a website some basic can’t be avoid, like choosing domain name and getting in contact with a domain name registration. Domain name registration is the most important thing before starting a website. Two website can’t use same names because it’s always unique that usually offers a public service as email the World Wide Web. So, owning your own URL is very important. After that you have to register your domain on one single set of web hosting account like -.net,.com,.in,.info,.edu etc.

Owning your own domain increase you business and it increases the chances of getting a high rank on search engines. Because when people think of your website, they will think it by your name or your company name. If your company name and URL is same then they don’t have to wonder what URL to type into the web browser to get there.

If you would like to register your domain by “abc”, but someone else has already held that name. Then you will choose some other name. What happens when customers would like to know about you product, recalling that Rich has a product they want, he will type www. abc.com? They’ll wind up at your competitor’s website, you are in loss.

If you can’t get the domain name of your choice then you can buy that domain from the current owner. You can contact that person and buy. If he is willing to sell then that domain can transfer to your name. This is called Transfer of Domain.

How to Setup a Domain – The Basics

By Carl Gallant

It is imperative that you know how to setup a domain as it will be the backbone of your website and should sum up everything your website or business has to offer in one or two words. Much advice has been given and views have been shared, but the question remains, what does it take to setup a domain, which will have the potential to actually make you money online?

If you got the knack and know how to setup a domain, you would know it is a simple process which starts out by choosing a name and registering that name with a domain name registrar. Many people have made some decent money that way. Many companies who have been trading for sometime will use their company name as their domain name, that way they will be developing their Trademark.

Here is a simple process showing you how to setup a domain:

* Use your search engine and search for the term “Domain Registrars”. You should be presented within tons of Registrar’s which would want your business. Do some research to find out which companies’ offers the best value for money. Once you have established your desired Registrar, go ahead an open an account with them (it should be free). It is required of you to have an account with them in order for you to register a domain.

* Type in your desired Domain Name. It is always best to seek an extension ending with.com, although it is not entirely necessary. Once you have done this, click the search button. It will state whether your domain is available and at most times if it is not available, you will be presented with a list of alternatives.

* Once all goes well in step 2 and you are happy with the name, go ahead and purchase it. You will have to choose the activation period and whether you would want to include services such as Web Hosting. I will be covering Web Hosting in another article, so for now just complete the domain registering.

* It should not take longer than 1 day for the Registrar to process your domain name. You can check your Domain Name Manager (on site) on an intermittently basis to check the status of your processing.

Again, these are basic steps which show anyone how to setup a domain. Once you have completed the process successfully, the next phase would be to implement a hosting platform.

CA Domain – Renowned and Trustworthy Domains

By Mary Thomson

The World Wide Web is indeed a wide network and has a number of websites. These websites need to be registered and there are certain government agencies which have this charge. Every country has its own set rules and regulation when it comes to cyberspace.

For people in Canada wanting to have a Canadian domain name for their websites need to register first with the Canadian Internet Registration Authority better known as CIRA. Domains are the ending part of a website, for e.g.: .com, .net, .org, .gov etc. These are the top level domains and websites need to register with them.

The registrars here mainly provide help to people who come for registrations, transfers and renewals. People or companies make their presence felt on the World Wide Web by registering with a domain name, with this domain name it can set up a website where they can display the information regarding the company.

The country code domains are two lettered and these signify the country where the domain is registered. A lot of people and companies opt for the Canadian domain which is coded as.ca for their websites since this domain is considered to be the safest.

For this one has to contact the registrars at Canadian Internet Registration Authority. One should make sure that the registrar they have chosen to hold talks with is registered with CIRA. One can get the details and prices from these registrars. One thing should be borne in mind that different registrars charge different fees, that simply implies that the fees are not fixed and thus one can compare prices from different registrars and then choose the one who gives the best offer.

There are certain registrars who not only help in getting the domain name but also help with web hosting assistance. This deal can be the best deal as it not only saves money but also a lot of precious time. To have a Canadian domain one has to be a resident of Canada or either have a company somewhere in Canada. Once you have a Canadian domain, it will be under the strict regulation of Canadian rules.

Whois Service and How it Works

By Olga Shavruk

Think of creating a website as homesteading on the wide open spaces of the internet: You register the domain name of your choice, and you pay the monthly or yearly fee to the service provider; then, you ”own” and work that space. Typically, you have the option of reserving a domain name for a year, three years, or five years; and, the longer you take your claim, naturally, the more you pay.

A ”Who Is?” look-up service tells people that you have homesteaded that little space.

Or a ”Who Is?” look-up service tells you who owns domain names in which you are interested. Your interest may originate in Google AdSense placement of the domain’s advertising on your website; naturally, you feel curious about who is this person linking a site to mine? Or, more urgently, your interest may originate in something a little more territorial and competitive: you may want to learn about the owner of the domain name you always wanted; the ”Who Is?” look-up gives you information about the domain owner and the terms of his or her registration. Armed with that information, you can make choices about strategies for buying the domain name, improvising on it, adapting it, or going into direct competition with it.

You need to know ”Who Is?” because… ”Who Is” searches empower you to know your customers and your competition as well as they know themselves.

You invested considerable time, talent, energy, and cash in development of ad campaigns designed to work with Google AdWords. You targeted websites and potential customers using the best metrics and analytics you and the techno-geeks could imagine. Since you launched the campaign, you have seen your site’s traffic meter spin faster than the numbers on a New York City taxicab, but you are not seeing corollary revenues, and you have the uneasy feeling you are not attracting the right clientele. When you discover the details about the websites referring your traffic, you can formulate plans for making more money or adjusting your campaigns.

Or you see that almost all your unique visitors are referred from a handful of sites that share your interest and obviously share your audience. When you Google these sites, you see that they rank high well-up there on the first pages of all the major search engine listings. You and the marketing guys think you should begin meaningful dialogue with the owners of these websites, exploring creation of direct links and joint ventures in the interest of cornering your niche market.

“Who is?” supplements other advertising databases. As you become more sophisticated in your use of the data, begin customizing and personalizing both the content on your website and the marketing information you disseminate via e-mail. You also want to know more about your competition: what do those guys have that you do not, and how can you both get some of it and make it better?

The more you know about the visitors to and the advertisers on your website, the more you can adjust your content and use your blocking tools to control both what appears with your posts and how much you earn from click-throughs. Use, for example, AdSense id and Analytics id lookup to target the highest-paying advertisers in your niche; or use the list of all AdSense ids and Analytics ids to target those visitors who ought to become your preferred customers. You may use AdSense ID lookup to assess your advertisers’ integrity and the quality of the products they sell; and you may use Google Analytics ID lookup to set the parameters for your next advertising campaign.

How to Make Your Business Website Look Unprofessional

By Rezdwan Hamid

There are many ways to make your business website look unprofessional but today I am going to talk about how your site’s URL can affect your web branding. A URL is what you type in to your browser URL bar to get to a certain website.

Using A Free Website

Have you ever looked for a company’s site only to find that it is hosted on some free site? For example, something that ends with a multiply dot com or wordpress dot com in their URL. One look and you will know that the site is hosted on a free website from Multiply or WordPress.

Don’t get me wrong and I am not saying that you should not do it but it should only serve as a secondary site with the purpose of networking. In fact, I do encourage this if it helps you connect to your target audience that is hanging out there.

Not Buying A Domain

With the prices of domain being very low nowadays, nothing should stop you from registering one. Don’t tell me you can’t afford to pay a small sum for the sake of your company’s branding. It’s just not acceptable.

Let’s say you took my advice and finally bought the domain name and now you are proud to show everyone how your URL looks like now. What is the worst thing you can do than not buying the domain name in the first place?

Using A Free Email Address

I find it very disgusting when I see a nice company website that has its own domain but when I looked for the contact email address, all I see is that they are using Hotmail or Gmail. You took the trouble to buy a domain but you did not set up your email to use that same domain.

Imagine that! I am at nice website and the email address to contact them is something that comes from Hotmail or Gmail. It really puts me off and make your company look very unprofessional.

What You Can Do

Use Google Apps for goodness sake. Google Apps is a suite of online applications and you can actually use it with your own domain.

Make Money With Your Unused Domain Names!

By William Torneau

Many people purchase domain names thinking that they have the next big idea for a billion dollar website, only to realize a couple weeks after they purchase the name that it’s a lot harder than they thought to make this site. Therefore, the domain name sits, unused, and its costing money annually to keep it.

The best thing to do here is to advertise on your “parked” domain names. This means that there will be no content for the site, just an entire page of ads, kinda like those annoying pages in magazines that fall out when you turn the pages. If someone wants the domain that you have, chances are they will type it in first to check if its available. This will being them to your site and there will be plenty of colorful banners and text boxes in on your site for them to click on! Pretty simple huh?

Also, another great way to make some money off your unused domain names is to sell your domain names. Now this only works if your domains are in high demand, otherwise you may as well just keep them. You can sell your domain names using domain brokers online. There are a wide variety of domain brokers so you will have to find which one is right for you by comparing all of them. Some of them are very cheap and some are more on the expensive side, but sometimes you get what you pay for. Just do your research and you’ll be fine!

Looking For the Right Domain Name For You?

By Richard Haigh

There is going to be a newborn in your family…maybe you are the new parent!

So what do you do? You do what most other people do and that is agonise for ages, have sleepless nights (cause you must get this one right) as to what to call your new baby and then you go and call the new baby Jim or Mary. (No offence at all to all those lovely people out there called Jim/Mary. They are both very nice names.)

The reason that parents have to get the name right is because they know, like everybody else does that the sound shape and look of a name says a lot about the new baby…let alone the parents!

In other words, the questions that you ask yourself when you choose a child’s name are very important. What are the child’s needs is the question…but you do not know that. So you put in your needs because this Name will say a lot about you and you must get it right.

Now, the same goes for your website name (called a domain name)

First off, do not name the site after yourself. Unless your are the leading light for the subject such as http://www.danbrown.com most people would know what that is about.

What you are looking for, with this search, is a name that will let the browser know as accurately as possible what your site is all about. Focus the name on what the site provides like gorillasuits.com. With that sort of site your are going to tell your visitor just what it is all about, right from the start.

But you name must also answer the question “what is in it for me”: to answer that question with a name you could go with cheapgorillasuits.com

Using such a name you tell your visitor what the benefit of your site is to them and build a greater sense of excitement. The person will want to buy or at least look to see what you have to offer.

So, halfpricegorillasuits.com sounds great, and it may well get a lot of hits but your site must sell half price gorilla suits.

There are a few no-nos:

-Do not waste time messing around with spelling. Use the correct spelling. If your site is going to be about cakes, then spell cakes and not cakez.

-Use words and not numbers it only adds to confusion.

Looking for the right name deserves time and research but follow the rules and you will avoid the pit falls that can kick so many people in the teeth and we do not want that do we?
